Mothers' Union in Musselburgh

Here in Musselburgh at St Peter’s, we are a small group of women who meet once a month (On the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 2pm in St Peter’s church hall) to enjoy fellowship and a cup of tea. We are not an energetic group but make up for this with enthusiasm for the subjects of the day. We pray together and discuss the issues brought to our attention by the visiting speakers.

We have just finished collecting a number of rucksacks which are filled with the necessary items for pupils to attend school in Malawi. This is our outreach charity challenge for this year. It is run by Mary's Meals (Scottish Charity SC022140).

Our programme is designed to be entertaining and informative and we open our doors to non-members both male and female of any Christian denomination or none. All are made very welcome.

Mary's Prayer

All this day, O Lord,

Let us touch as many lives as possible for thee; and every life we touch, do thou by thy spirit quicken, whether through the words we speak, the prayers we breathe, or the lives we live.

Amen

Mothers' Union is a Global organisation!

We are a movement of over four million Christians in 84 countries worldwide. Mothers' Union is unique because our members work as volunteers in local communities, putting their faith into action by acts great and small, giving individuals in need a helping hand and enabling communities (of all faiths and none) to have the confidence and skills to transform their lives in a sustainable way.

The movement was started in 1876 by Mary Sumner to support mothers as they brought up their children as Christians.

Our Vision

Our vision is of a world where God’s love is shown through loving, respectful and flourishing relationships. This is not a vague hope, but a goal we actively pursue by praying, campaigning and enabling. Discover how in Our Focus.

Our Mission

We aim to show our Christian faith by the transformation of communities worldwide. We can do this through supporting strong relationships within the family and promoting reconciliation at all levels.
