Weddings & Blessings

If you are looking for a local church to have your wedding, we would love to welcome you. At St Peter’s we will work with you to make your big day truly memorable. Our beautiful and picturesque church building, at the end of the High Street, is the perfect wedding venue. We have a garden and an adjacent hall available for hire for the reception if you so wish. We can also hold a blessing or renewal of vows for a wedding anniversary.

St Peter’s celebrates weddings for all couples, regardless of sexual orientation. For more information about the ceremony, legal or practical matters, available dates and wedding fees, contact us here or click on the following information guide.

Baptisms & Confirmations

If you would like to make a commitment to follow Jesus, why not consider baptism? Baptism with water, in the name of the God of Love, is both a powerful visual symbol of spiritual renewal and cleansing, and a means of divine grace to help you along the journey. If you are considering baptism as an adult, please contact us here and we can discuss next steps with you.

Children are also welcome to be baptised and become full members of the church family. As a parent, you can make the baptism commitments on behalf of your children, as you support them in their own journey of faith, within the Christian community. If you are considering baptism for your child, please contact us here to discuss next steps.

If you have already been baptised, but would like to make a personal commitment to Jesus as an adult, why not consider confirmation? In the confirmation ceremony, you will be able to renew the promises made at your baptism, and share your faith story. If you are considering confirmation, please contact us here.

Funerals & Memorials
As a church community, we are here for you if you have just lost a loved one and need pastoral or spiritual support. We can help you plan a sensitive and appropriate funeral that celebrates your loved one’s life, mourns their death and offers them into God’s loving care. For bereavement support and funeral advice, please contact us here.

We also offer a yearly Service of Light on All Souls Day (first Sunday in November) to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us, and especially those who have died in the past year. This special service includes beautiful music, the naming of our beloved departed in a prayer of thanksgiving, and lighting candles. It is a moving service and a safe space to mourn, give thanks and celebrate their lives.
